Teacher: J O'Rourke
Tuesday September 23rd - Biology Field Trip '08
Mr O'Rourke and his senior biology class travelled to Rostrevor in Co Down today to carry out their field trip assignment which will form the basis of some of their Leaving Certificate examination. As part of the study, the students examined and recorded samples from both woodland and seashore environments. Their instructor was very impressed with the high standard of interest from the class and was astounded by the acuteness and intelligence of their answers to his probing questions. For example when he set up the hypothetical situation where a certain number of insects were found in a particular area in January, yet only half that number were found in July, and asked the class if there was anything to be inferred from this result, he received (in all earnestness) the superb answer "There is less of them." Take a bow Ray Mulholland.
That aside, the sun shone all day, Samuel only cried once when someone produced a creepy crawly, and Damo was only 10 minutes late so it was a great day for all.
